What are the co-op fees?
At Potter's Clay it is our goal to make the co-op as affordable as possible for our families. We do not charge for our classes, except for the curriculum, supplies, copy fees, etc. needed to conduct each class. We actively look for ways to keep costs at a minimum and charge only what is necessary. We will have a schedule of when fees are due, split payment plans if available, and will try to collect fees for only the current semester if at all possible. Please keep in mind that all fees, once paid, are non-refundable. Also, keep in mind that with our rotating scope & sequence, there may come a point, depending on your age range of students, that you will not have to purchase additional curriculum because you already own it.
Registration Fee
$50 per family
We will collect a $50 check when you turn in your application. If we are not able to place your family in our program, we will either destroy the check or return it to you, whichever you would prefer. If we are able to place your family, we will cash the check upon your notification and acceptance into our program. This fee will be non-refundable at that time.
This money is used to secure your spot in our program and is the source for our operation funds beyond classroom fees. We are still assessing if additional funds per family will be needed for next year. If so, the need will be communicated to the group and assessed on the second semester invoices.
Seed Money
In order to provide "seed money" over the summer for class planning and to solidify commitment to the co-op we will collect $60/student for level 1-3 (which is $20 per class); $20/student for Foundations; and $60/student for high school (this amount could change depending on our finalized high school classes). These fees once paid are non-refundable. Please note that this fee is deducted from the actual materials fee for the class and does not include the cost of curriculum. The remainder will be due in August.
NOTE: Seed Money paid will be deducted from actual class fees when we collect semester balances at the beginning of each semester. For example, if you paid $20 of seed money for a science class and the actual fee for the class is $45 then you would only be invoiced for $25 for the remainder of the balance when we collect fees at the beginning of the semester.
Class Fees
Class fees will be solidified once we have all families registered and teaching teams assigned. Costs for now are approximate due to a number of factors. First, we take advantage of bulk order discounts and group licenses for some of our classes which can not be figured out until we have final numbers of students. Second, facilitators may or may not find a resource useful to the class and therefore, may or may not require it. The figures below are an effort to give you some idea of the costs associated with the classes.
All class fees once paid are non-refundable.
In addition, you will need to purchase some basic school supplies for each of your students such as colored pencils, scissors, glue, etc. Some classes also require materials to be kept in 3-ring binders that you will need to provide as well. We will provide a supply list for each level prior to our start date.

History
Tapestry of Grace (TOG) - We use the Digital Version of the TOG curriculum. TOG Redesign Year 2 is $170 for the digital version, however, you can also buy the program per unit if you need to break up the cost (see the TOG website for more information). Please keep in mind that this program is designed for K-12th grade and only needs to be purchased once. TOG is broken down into a 4 year cycle so once the 4 years are complete you will own the entire program, therefore, you will not need to purchase additional curriculum.
TOG offers scheduled reading lists for each week for each level of your children. It is expected that parents acquire the appropriate required reading material for their children so they are able to come to class prepared. Many of these books can be purchased used at various online sites (both new and used) and many can also be found in the library. In addition, some books can be substituted especially in our grammar levels.
We will hold a meeting to train our families on how to implement the program at home and which resources and books need to be purchased and/or acquired. If you have questions in the meantime, please feel free to ask.
For the geography portion of the class each family is required to purchase the TOG Year 2 Map Aids disc - $25 (1 disc per family-disc includes all 4 levels).
Level 4 will also need Poetics and Evaluations supplements; the government supplement may be used as well.
