Welcome to you and your family!
Thank you for your interest! We hope that this website will provide you with the information needed to prayerfully consider applying to Potter's Clay. We encourage you to read through our site. You will find detailed information on our class offerings, schedule, fees, application process, and hopefully the answers to many of your questions. If you have a question that is not answered on our site, please don't hesitate to contact us using our "contact us" tab under the PCC Information link above.
We are a Christ-centered, parent-facilitated homeschool co-op working together to offer support, encouragement, structure, and accountability to our individual homeschools. Beyond classes, we strive to create not just a co-op, but a family. A place where lasting friendships are fostered and nurtured in a loving, Christian environment where students can learn and thrive individually and together.
More than a co-op experience...Our mission is to provide a long-term resource for families as they home educate their children. We are looking for families who want to partner long-term and look at our classes as meeting a need instead of families who are looking for a short-term or temporary classroom situation for their children. The curriculum we utilize follows a classical model of education. Utilizing this pre-determined curriculum, we have created a scope & sequence that offers a natural progression from year to year in each of the three subjects we support; writing/grammar, science, and history. However, within this scope and sequence we offer our parents the option to request students move between levels based on their student's individual abilities. Our scope and sequence enables our families to not only plan their school year, but be able to count on classes for each of their children at their appropriate skill level.
We offer classes from elementary through 12th grade. Please see our class offerings page for more details about our classes.
For the 2019_2020 school year:
Potter's Clay is a true cooperative meaning all members teach and serve. A parent from each member family commits to facilitating a class for the entire school year on a "facilitator team" of two people. Each parent will be assigned to a "facilitator team" based on your interests, gifts, and experiences. Lesson plans for your assigned class are created prior to the school year and implemented on a weekly basis during our operating weeks. Therefore, your homeschool is supported for these subjects for each of your children for the entire school year. This is a great opportunity when you consider that for a family of three you are committing to facilitate one class, but you are receiving nine in return (3 for each student)! By doing this, we are able to offer classes to our families for the cost of curriculum and supplies needed for each class.
