What are the co-op fees?
At Potter's Clay it is our goal to make the co-op as affordable as possible for our families. One of the ways we do this is by making our class fees consist of only the materials necessary to conduct the class. Another way we look to save our families money is through our rotating scope and sequence. For instance, once all 4 years of the Tapestry of Grace program is purchased a family never has to buy a history program again as it will rotate every four years and can be used by all of your children through high school. An added bonus is that the Tapestry program is also the basis for our middle school writing program and our honors level English classes as well, which makes the purchase of the program a cost-effective investment.
We actively look for ways to keep costs at a minimum and charge only what is necessary. We will have a schedule of when fees are due, split payment plans if available, and will try to collect fees for only the current semester if at all possible. Please keep in mind that all fees, once paid, are non-refundable.
Registration Fee
Registration Fee: $160
This money is to be paid upon submitting an application.
For current families this money is non-refundable immediately.
For families applying for a spot, this money will be non-refundable once a spot has been offered to you and you accept. From that point the fee will be non-refundable.
Seed Money
Seed money: $60 per student
First child's seed money is due upon submitting an application.
In order to provide "seed money" over the summer for class planning and to solidify commitment to the co-op we will collect $60/which is $20 per class; $25/student for Foundations; and $20/class per student for high school (this amount could change depending on our finalized high school classes). These fees once paid are non-refundable. Seed money will be allocated to students in the grammar, dialectic, and rhetoric levels first with a Foundations student being the last collection. NOTE: Seed Money paid will be deducted from actual class fees when we collect semester balances at the beginning of each semester. For example, if you paid $20 of seed money for a science class and the actual fee for the class is $45 then you would only be invoiced for $25 for the remainder of the balance when we collect fees in August at the beginning of the semester.
Fee Collection Schedule:
Background Check
All adults facilitating a class at Potter's Clay need to have a background check run by a private company utilized by Colonial Baptist Church for all of their childcare providers. Once accepted, we will run your name through the system to see if you have a background check on file with the church. If so, then another background check is not needed. If you have never had a background check done through their system you will be charged a one-time fee of $8 to have the background check run. This amount will be tacked on to your first Seed Money installment.
Estimated Class Fees
Class fees will be solidified once we have all families registered and teaching teams assigned. Costs for now are approximate due to a number of factors. First, we take advantage of bulk order discounts and group licenses for some of our classes which can not be figured out until we have final numbers of students. Second, facilitators may or may not find a resource useful to the class and therefore, may or may not require it. The figures below are an effort to give you some idea of the costs associated with the classes. Reminder: All class fees once paid are non-refundable.
In addition, you will need to purchase some basic school supplies for each of your students such as colored pencils, scissors, glue, etc. Some classes also require materials to be kept in 3-ring binders that you will need to provide as well. We will provide a supply list for each level prior to our start date.
Please note: any special field trips or end of unit celebrations will be discussed and agreed upon by the group and will have a separate fee for participants
